The Project
Southwest Contemporary (SWC) Magazine is a digital and print magazine that covers arts and cultures in the southwestern United States. In this position I report directly to the Art Director/ Publisher/ Owner of the magazine. Within this role, I generate content for both digital and print platforms of the publication. This encompasses crafting email marketing campaigns, designing social media advertisements, and editing print magazine covers.
Magazine Photoshoot
Technologies: Adobe Lightroom
Provided art direction, photography, and photo retouching for the 2024 issue of Southwest Contemporary's New Mexico Field Guide.
Print: Map Illustrations
Technologies: Adobe Illustrator and InDesign
Building on the maps designed for previous editions, I crafted new maps for Southwest Contemporary's 2024 New Mexico Field Guide Issue, featuring detailed layouts of Las Cruces and Mesilla
Social Media Content
Technologies: Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
Following the brand guidelines of the magazine, I crafted compelling content tailored for Instagram and Facebook. These advertisements serve as crucial drivers for garnering content submissions, upon which the magazine heavily depends.
Email Campaign Content
Technologies: Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
Aside from curating two weekly email newsletters, I also developed captivating mid-roll, footer, and leaderboard advertisements for these campaigns. These ads are instrumental in directing traffic to our website's calendar and classifieds pages, which are integral to fulfilling our community-serving mission.
Print: Cover Edits
Technologies: Adobe Photoshop
Guided by the Art Director, I undertook essential edits to the cover of our print issues. This involves proficiently utilizing Adobe Photoshop to implement corrections and adjustments in alignment with the Art Director's creative vision.
